PapaCharly is a relaxed Italian restaurant tucked into Calle 30 Nte in Hollywood, Playa del Carmen. It strikes a balance between casual comfort and thoughtful presentation, making it a reliable spot for anyone looking to enjoy a full-service meal without the fuss of fine dining. The atmosphere feels organic and unpretentious, fitting well with the easy-going vibe of the neighborhood.

People often come here for lunch or brunch specials that offer great value—a three-course meal plus a drink for under 220 pesos has drawn regular crowds. The portions are moderate but satisfying, with fresh ingredients and dishes that show care, like their take on classic Italian eats such as cannelloni and chicken parmesan, as well as touches that nod to local flavors like the sweet and sour ribs or the Pollo Agridulce. Coffee lovers can also appreciate their espresso, while dessert options like cheesecake and apple pie close the meal on a familiar, comforting note.

The space itself leans toward an organic, homey look that aligns with the kind of relaxed daytime dining visitors seem to appreciate. It’s not a flashy location but one where you can comfortably settle in for a meal with friends or family. Service is generally attentive and warm, even if a bit hurried during busier times, which speaks to the place’s popularity especially for weekend brunches. Locals seem to favor it as a dependable go-to for decent food and a mellow atmosphere.

Best times to visit are midday, especially for lunch specials or weekend brunches when the lively but easy pace captures the neighborhood's casual rhythm. Whether you’re dropping in to sample the sashimi de atún starter or winding down with a flan or carrot cake, PapaCharly offers a grounded, approachable experience for those who enjoy solid Italian-flavored meals with a few local twists.

Their lunch specials are very good value. Choose three different menu items for a fixed price. The carrot cake had an unexpected flavor (spices? Not sure but it wasn't one of the best I've ever had). However, the sesame crusted stuffed fish was delicious. Portions were decent for the price. The fruit water was refreshing.

This place is really nice, it has a pretty cool vibe and the lunch and brunch specials are amazing value for money! The food is high quality, fresh and tasty. The presentation of the food plates is very good and something you would only expect in a much more expensive restaurant! The staff is very attentive and friendly - highly recommend it! Check it out

Decent food, good value. Waiters seem a bit overwhelmed so they miss things. But at least they are nice.ive had lunch there a few times. Not a huge portion but filling enough. I had sweet and sour ribs and bbq ribs on different occasions. My friend goes every Sunday for the brunch special. She loves it.

I was passing by here one morning and I noticed they had seating by a ledge overlooking the street. I decided to stop - zero regrets. I ended up having breakfast and dinner here- they had combo deals at the time and it was definitely worth it. The staff is amazing - like genuinely nice. They assist you as best as you can and they continue to check in to make sure you are okay. I would recommend to anyone ! I wish I had more cash at the then to leave for the team - but know you guys are amazing.

We stumbled into this cafe completely by chance and found brunch, which is only on Sundays. For 250 pesos, they bring you coffee, juice, mimosa, a croissant, fruit and yogurt, and you can choose something made with eggs. The food arrived very quickly. The waiters were very friendly and explained everything. We really enjoyed it; we ate our fill, but the only thing was that it was very hot. Please install more fans.
